Council elections put back to maximise involvement

The CSP’s 2021 Council election process is being delayed by two months to give members currently working on the frontline response to the pandemic more time to get involved.

Nominations will now open on 22 March and the election poll will open for postal ballots on 7 June. The election results will be announced on 6 July.

CSP head of governance Nicola Ebdon said: ‘It’s important that our council is made up of a diverse range of members and is reflective of our membership, and we want to maximise the opportunities for members to engage in the election process and consider nominating themselves to stand.

We hope this delay will enable members who are impacted by the pandemic enough time to gather the information required for their nominations application and be ready to submit by the revised closing date in May.

The committee application period is also delayed, and will run from 5 July to 6 September. All appointments will be confirmed at the AGM in November.
