CSP Diversity Networks gain new constitution

Following a review of all CSP networks, in December last year, CSP Council has agreed to a new model constitution for the CSP Diversity Networks.

The structure of the CSP Diversity Networks has changed, bringing them in line with other CSP Networks and giving them additional resources including:

  • a network committee (of up to 10 people, in addition to the existing roles of Chair and Vice Chair.) which shall consist of members elected at an Annual General Meeting.

  • budgetary arrangements for each network.

The changes will help the networks to engage and support existing members so that all can feel connected and well informed, as well as, engaging the wider CSP membership on areas such as the Equity, Diversity and Belonging (EDB) strategy and growing the Diversity Network membership.

This also creates more opportunities for Diversity Network members to get involved in the leadership of the networks as we move forward with the new structure and supporting the work of the CSP EDB strategy, while also ensuring that no one person's workload is too much.

CSP Member and co-chair of the DisAbility Network, Emma Webster, said: 'Its great to see funding confirmed for the Diversity Networks.

We are now looking to expand leadership of the groups into committees in order to determine how to best use the funds to reach as many people as possible (Diversity Network members, the profession as a whole and of course the public)

'This will include volunteer roles such as Communications Officers, Liaison Officers and Events Officers, that will help organise events, promote sources of support and information and become key contacts within their networks.

'If this sounds of interest please speak to a diversity network chair for further information, we'd love to hear from you!'
