2018 Winter Olympics volunteering deadline is looming

Physiotherapists wanting to volunteer as specialist helpers at the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in South Korea have only until the end of this month to submit their applications.

Athletes from more than 100 nations will take part in the two Games, which will be held in the Gangwon Province of Korea in February and March 2018.

The organising committee are looking for 820 people with specialist medical training to assist at the Olympics and 380 for the Paralympics.

Volunteer physios will need temporary registration with the Korean Physical Therapy Association and will need to be able to commit to spending three weeks at the Olympics (which runs from 9-25 February 2018) and/or two weeks at the Paralympics (9-18 March).

The deadline for individual applications closes on 30 September but late submissions will be placed on a waiting list. For more information
