On Monday 24th January 2022 The CSP hosted an information webinar for CSP members, specifically focusing on COVID-19 mandatory vaccinations for NHS staff in England. The recording and resources from the session are now available here, for all CSP members to access.
Update 31st January 2022: Subject to consultation and parliamentary approval mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations will no longer apply to health and social care staff or student on placement. Employers may however still introduce a requirement for new staff to be vaccinated. We will update the Covid-19 vaccine page as further information is made available by the Department for Health and Social Care.
The webinar, attended by 97 CSP members, provided information to help CSP members understand the government’s introduction of mandatory vaccinations and what the changes mean for them.
It was chaired by Alex Mackenzie, Chair of CSP Council, and included presentations from Rob Yeldham, CSP Director Strategic Policy and Engagement Division, and Jim Fahie, CSP Assistant Director Employee Relations and Union Services; they explained the CSP’s policy regarding the introduction of mandatory vaccinations and how the CSP can support members.
They were joined by Sara Conroy, CSP Professional Advisor who was on hand to answer questions related to Practice and Development, and Mary Ross-Davie, Director of Professional Midwifery at The Royal College of Midwifery who addressed concerns around vaccination and pregnancy.
All CSP members who signed up to attend the webinar were invited to submit questions, which the speakers answered during their presentations. There was also an additional Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
