Vacancy details

Willow Wood Hospice is set in a tranquil location in Ashton under Lyne and serves the population of Tameside and Glossop. We see anyone with a life limiting diagnosis including cancer, respiratory, cardiac and progressive neurological conditions.

We aim to help everyone who passes through our doors to attain the best possible quality of life. Our care whether it be physical, psychological, social or spiritual also extends to families and carers.

We provide a comprehensive range of day services including our START clinic, dementia nurses, family support and medical outpatients. We also have a 12 bedded Inpatient Unit.

We are currently reviewing all our services to work more closely with our community partners in providing excellent coordinated end of life care

Due to retirement, we are now looking for a physiotherapist to extend our therapy team. You will work across all areas of the hospice, both current and those developed in the future, meeting the therapy and rehabilitation needs of our patients, and supporting families and carers. You will work closely with the Band 6 OT and assistant practitioner

You will be fully integrated into the day services clinical team, which includes nursing staff and clinical assistants as well as the therapists. You will also offer a physiotherapy service to inpatients as part of a coordinated rehabilitation programme

We are looking for someone who has a real interest in palliative and end of life care, is keen to take a holistic approach to their practice and has developed skills across professional boundaries in order to meet patient need.

It is an exciting time for the hospice as we look to expand and develop our services.
