TERMS & CONDITIONS
Weekly Hours
Full-time, 35 hours average per week (exclusive of meal breaks), normally Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
Annual Leave
The post-holder will be entitled to 25 days paid leave per full year, inclusive of English Public Holidays. The leave year runs from January to December and leave can be taken at any time by mutual agreement with your Line Manager.
The Home's Pension Scheme
We will assess whether you qualify to be automatically enrolled into the pension scheme during the first two months of your employment. If you qualify for enrolment, then we will automatically enrol you into the Standard Life Pension Scheme from your second month as an employee. Provided you make a contribution of 5% or more (before tax relief) into this pension scheme, the Charity will contribute 7.5% of pensionable salary into this scheme.
Life Assurance
The Home has a Group Life Assurance scheme on behalf of all permanent employees who are between the ages of 18 and 65 years of age. The policy provides that the Trust will receive a lump sum of 3 times salary in the event of the death of a Member.
Conditions of Appointment
All offers of employment are made subject to receiving:
- Two satisfactory references work related covering a period of 5 years
- Medical clearance
- Disclosure & Barring Service
- Three-month probationary period
Disclosure and Barring Services
In accordance with the guidelines set out by the National Care Standards Commission, the Home must obtain a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure for all new employees prior to commencement in post. If appointed, Human Resources will provide the required form and will need you to provide a minimum of three forms of identification, one of which should contain your current address.
