CSP welcomes easier vaccination access for non-NHS members in England

Public Health England and NHS England have today confirmed that non-NHS physios, physio support workers and students on placement outside the NHS can book vaccinations directly with their local NHS hub hospitals.

The move follows lobbying by the CSP to make vaccination easier for members.

Until now most non-NHS practitioners in England have had to wait to be registered by their local CCGs, some of whom have been slow to set up registration systems.

CSP policy director Rob Yeldham said: 'Despite a clear public health policy to vaccinate all patient-facing healthcare workers, accessing vaccination has been very difficult for many members outside the NHS.

Having lobbied for, and secured, a simpler system we would urge all members who are regularly seeing patients to get vaccinated as soon as possible

In a separate move, most Welsh health boards have now provided details of how non-NHS practitioners can book vaccinations.
