The CSP DisAbility network is excited to hold this event for CSP members interested in reaching into research. Students, associates and all other members are welcome.
The event will be chaired by Sally Kiernan, cystic fibrosis specialist physiotherapist, Manchester University Foundation Trust, and CSP diversity representative.
Members' experiences
The event will start with a summary of research opportunities. Sally will then chair a panel discussion exploring the research experiences of three DisAbility network members:
- Iona Bateman, physiotherapy student, University of Southampton, and research assistant, University of Nottingham
- Francesca Peplow, musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals, Physio Matters First Steps team lead
- Anna Anderson, research fellow in qualitative research, University of Leeds
This will include discussing the challenges of getting involved in research and strategies for overcoming them. The panel members will also share how they feel their lived experiences offer unique insights and strengths for research, and their tips for anyone interested in getting involved in research.
The event will end with signposting to sources of funding and further support, and a chance to ask questions.
