World physio day

The theme for World PT Day 2022 will be arthritis and rheumatology. World PT Day is marked on 8 September, the date World Physiotherapy (originally called the World Confederation for Physical Therapy) was founded by 11 national physiotherapy associations. Orthopaedics for primary care

A set of free orthopaedic education videos, aimed at primary care practitioners and designed to upskill community knowledge, have been created by clinicians at Rotherham NHS Trust. The talks, entitled ‘Orthopaedics for primary care’ aim to promote knowledge, confidence and injection techniques.

Home mechanical ventilation

A website for patients with COPD has been launched by the HMVIP Group, a multidisciplinary team representing home mechanical ventilation (HMV) centres across the UK. It provides information, troubleshooting and stories from patients with COPD and is also aimed at family carers who want to know more about HMV and how it works at a practical level. 

PEDRO New campaign to tackle barriers to evidence-based physiotherapy

#PEDroTacklesBarriers will focus on the biggest barriers to evidence-based physiotherapy. Organised by the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) it will share tips on how to tackle a particular barrier. Watch the short video here.

The campaign will focus on each of four barriers to encourage physiotherapists around the globe to work collaboratively to implement the most relevant strategies into their practice. #PEDroTacklesBarriers to evidence-based physiotherapy
