‘I joined the CSP as a fresh physiotherapy graduate. I was initially attracted by the guidance and resources on offer, but I soon discovered much more. Being a member opened doors to professional networks like physios in sport, the injection therapy group, and the advanced practice physiotherapy network, which have provided great opportunities for learning and professional development.

The CSP's Charitable Trust grants supported my advanced practice training, which included musculoskeletal ultrasound and injection therapy. These grants were especially valuable when I was setting up new services and buying equipment.’

‘I’ve proudly been a member of the CSP since my days as a physiotherapy student in 1997. Through my 16 years in the NHS and my journey of establishing my private practice, CSP membership has been an unwavering support. It serves as an invaluable resource hub, offering me a strong sense of belonging to a larger community of physiotherapy professionals.

When I considered starting a ‘mums and babies’ class, I received expert advice from the CSP’s professional advice service, particularly around insurance cover. Attending CSP webinars has kept me connected to my professional peers and the broader physiotherapy community.  This enriches my practice and ensures I stay informed about physiotherapy developments, both locally and nationally.’

‘I’m a newly qualified physiotherapist and when I graduated, the CSP provided a lot of information around what to do next in terms of how to look for a job and how to prepare for a job. I’ve found that there’s loads of great benefits on the CSP website. It’s constantly updated with new information and new resources, so there’s always loads to look at and keep up to date with.  Being a member of the CSP makes me feel truly supported. I appreciate the communication through phone and email, and it’s reassuring to know that if the need arises, I can reach out to someone and get that support.’

‘CSP membership has allowed me to engage and connect regionally, which has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I am part of the southeast coast regional network and I have had the opportunity to meet and work with a diverse group of like-minded professionals, including clinicians and educators, who are all passionate about improving patient outcomes and promoting physiotherapy.

Through my involvement with the network, I have also had the opportunity to organise and participate in several educational days. It is not a hugely time-consuming commitment, but it is an incredibly valuable one. By participating in my regional network, I can also stay informed about what is happening in the NHS and share information about my own practice.’
