Further information

I'm Robin McNelis and I qualified as a Physio in 1995 from Queen Margaret college in Edinburgh and have specialised in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy since 1999.  Having many years experience in the various areas of Cardiorespiratory Physio in NHS and the Private Wellington Hospital, I have been working privately in the community part time since 2009 and left the NHS to work independently full-time in January 2024.  I am passionate about what I do and  always  explain the "why" as well as the "what" of my treatment plans so that patients and carers have a clear understanding of the rationale behind what I am doing.  As well as having over 25 years of clinical experience, having had both Cardiac and Respiratory complications after contracting Covid in March 2020, I can also relate to what it feels like to have these types of conditions, which many patients find reassuring.

Primarily I see people in their own homes in Essex, London and Central Scotland on my regular trips home but also do virtual consultations (especially for Long Covid Patients) and can also arrange clinic space to see patients face to face.  As well as using my considerable Physiotherapy skills when assessing and treating patients, I have also completed my UK Athletics Coaching certificates and Coaching for Health courses, with these learned skills being transferred to my clinical practice.

I offer Physiotherapy Assessment and Treatment in the following areas:

  • Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  • Breathing Pattern Disorders
  • Rehabilitation after an operation, illness or hospital stay
  • Post Covid Recovery from acute illness and Long Covid
  • Falls prevention - exercise plans and environmental risk assessments
  • Elderly care rehabilitation or general wellness plans to prevent deterioration and maintain independence
  • Running for Health - a form of Cardiac Prehab using walking, jog/walk or running in combination with the healthy living educational principles employed in Cardiac Rehab but as primary prevention, rather than after people have been diagnosed with health issues
