The World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) International Congress will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 10 - 13 May 2019.
The Robert Williams International Award, funded by the CSP Charitable Trust, provides financial assistance to help members of the CSP to present papers at the Congress. A total of £15,000 is available for allocation and awards will be offered on the basis of the quality of abstracts submitted.
Further details on how to submit an abstract to the WCPT are available from the WCPT website. The closing date for abstract submission to WCPT is 6 September 2018. The closing date for applications to the Robert Williams Award is noon on 5 October 2018.
Applications are considered from those CSP members resident within the UK, paying the full-practising subscription fee or the non-practising subscription fee.
Only applicants who have not previously received the award will be considered.
Applicants can only submit one application.
Applications will be considered subject to acceptance of the presentation of the paper to WCPT.
How to apply
Please download the application form and guidance notes, which can be found at the foot of this page, and return the completed application form to email@example.com by the deadline date.
Applications must include the text only of the abstract submitted to WCPT (which must be subject to acceptance by the WCPT). Abstracts are reviewed anonymously.
The information asked for by the WCPT regarding ethical approval should not be included in the abstract submitted to the CSP Charitable Trust.
References should not be included in the abstract submitted to the CSP Charitable Trust.
A biography should not be included in the abstract submitted to the CSP Charitable Trust.
The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 5 October 2018.
Method of selection
The CSP Charitable Trust Scientific Panel will be the selection committee and review the applications.
The selection process will be based on assessment criteria agreed by the CSP Charitable Trust and its decisions are final.
All assessments will be carried out ‘blind’ with author anonymity.
In the event of an application for the Robert Williams Award not being selected for the World Congress scientific programme, then the application will automatically be withdrawn from the Robert Williams International Award.
Your abstract should follow the submission guidelines as stated on the WCPT website.
All submitted abstracts will be anonymously assessed by the CSP Charitable Trust Scientific Panel using the same criteria as those outlined in the WCPT submission guidelines (follow the link above).
Presentation of awards
Robert Williams’ awardees will be presented with an engraved medallion at a CSP awards ceremony. Details will be provided nearer to the event.
Once awards have been made, all Robert Williams awardees will be expected to complete an evaluation questionnaire.
