This is an exciting opportunity for a registered physiotherapist to join the Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise as a University Practitioner / Senior University Practitioner. We are seeking to grow the physiotherapy team by introducing this post to support the current academic provision.

The Department is part of the School of Human and Health Sciences and contributes to a range of provisions across six allied health professions, midwifery, public health and sport.

The University of Huddersfield is a thriving university and our excellent facilities are expanding from September 2024 with state-of-the art teaching, research and clinical facilities on the National Health Innovation Campus, which physiotherapy will be part of.

We have a diverse student body and professional partnerships with health and social care and education partners. Huddersfield is a lively town, close to beautiful countryside and with excellent road and rail links to Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield. In 2023, the University achieved the TEF Gold award and its apprenticeship provision was graded as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

Your physiotherapy experience will enable you to deliver high quality education to our physiotherapy students and apprenticeship learners. You will also work alongside your multidisciplinary colleagues in shared teaching and learning modules so it is essential that you have good collaborative and interprofessional working skills.

Commitment to an innovative student-centred learning experience is essential. You should have knowledge of contemporary physiotherapy practice and awareness of developments and changes in healthcare education. With a Masters degree, you will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a physiotherapist. You should have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or have the capacity to obtain this within 12 months of appointment.

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.

The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and our membership of the Race Equality Charter.
