What you’ll do

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our highly skilled, interdisciplinary Sport Wales Institute team. You will be supporting programmes and athletes from Olympic and Paralympic sports on the World Class Performance Pathway, as well as funded athletes from non-Olympic Commonwealth sports based within Wales. This will include developing, implementing, and evaluating physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation programmes that reflect scientific principles related to sporting demands.

The post involves working closely with athletes, coaches and practitioners to build and maintain a high-performance culture within the Sport Wales Institute. Your responsibilities will include working with the Clinical Lead and other Sport Wales coaches and practitioners to continuously progress the service provided by the Medical and Therapies Team.

The normal place of work is Sport Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Travel within Wales is required as well as additional travel throughout the UK and abroad where necessary.

What you’ll need

You should be a highly motivated individual with a passion for high performance sport and be able to work both alone and as part of a wider interdisciplinary team.

We aim to support sports to succeed on the world stage whilst providing a service that focuses on a person-centred approach. We are looking for candidates that can deliver high levels of physiotherapy care and rehabilitation support whilst maintaining a delivery style that embraces our values of acting with integrity, adding value and encouraging innovation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, although not essential. If you have the presence and personality to work in a high performing team as well as the passion and drive to succeed, then we would love to hear from you.
