Supported by our Physiotherapy Manager, Tamsin Joyce, you’ll have autonomy to utilise your acquired expertise and skills to make decisions that will ensure the delivery of excellent patient care. We are looking for a senior physiotherapist with a broad experience in treating patients with pelvic health conditions, such as bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction, sexual dysfunction and pre and post-natal care.  Experience of treating men's pelvic health disorders would also be of benefit.

 

What is involved in the role?

Your role would predominantly be to treat pelvic health patients, post operatively or referred from the gynaecologists within the hospital but also from local GPs and insurance companies.

In addition, you would be expected to help with the inpatient service, and taking part in the weekend ward rota, which consists mainly of elective surgical patients.  Depending on demand, you may additionally be expected to see patients from a wider range of musculoskeletal conditions but given that the role is for two days a week, it is likely that your diary will be predominantly made up of pelvic health patients and there can be some flexibility around this depending on your experience.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, AHPS and consultants in order to optimise the health and recovery of our patients.

The hospital is brilliantly placed to support and mentor the successful candidate for this role, alongside our academy training programmes.

Your Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Values

With a BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent, you’ll be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. You will have evidence of further professional training and continual professional development, reflecting your desire to develop as a practitioner.

You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with the general public and other healthcare professionals. With a commitment to the use of evidence-based practice, you’ll also be able to demonstrate excellent manual therapy skills.

We expect you to be a competent and confident IT user and to be well organised – you’ll have the ability to prioritise and deal with your varied workload in an effective and timely manner.
