Position: Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist
Location: Bristol
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 Pro-Rata
Hours: Part-Time 24 hours per week (Days and Hours can be flexible; term time only will be considered)
The Aurora Group:
We are currently looking for a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist to work as part of a multi-dsiciplinary team within the therapy serices based at Aurora St Christopher’s Residential School in Bristol (Westbury Park).
Aurora St Christophers supports children and young people aged 5 to 19 years with severe and complex learning difficulties including Autism, physical and multi-sensory needs.
The Role:
As our new Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist; you’ll be joining a friendly, experienced and multi-disciplinary team of therapists including occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, nursing and clinical psychology and therapy assistants who are all based at the school.
Our therapists, school and care colleagues all work closely together to provide holistic care and support to meet the needs of each pupil.
You will be expected to provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment and intervention to children and young people, including advice and training to relevant parents, carers and professionals in line with proposed treatment plans across both the school and residential settings to enable the children to develop and reach their full potential.
Additionally; this role gives an excellent opportunity to specialise in a challenging and rewarding area of complex paediatric neurodisability and work in an environment where you will really get to know each pupil and the chance to influence their outcomes from start to finish.
Experience:
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Experience working with children with complex needs
- Knowledge of assessment and intervention approaches for children with complex needs
- The ability to work closely and effectively with the MDT, parents and others in order to support children.
- The ability to create, implement and review therapy care plans
- Knowledge of current intervention policies, practice and national drivers
- The ability to work autonomously, flexibly and under sometimes challenging conditions
- Experience of aqua/hydrotherapy
