We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic & innovative Physiotherapist to join our inpatient physiotherapy team to help provide a high standard service by assessing, planning and delivering individual treatment programmes. In return we provide a unique opportunity for the professional to develop themselves and make a difference in patients lives.
Successful applicants must be HCPC registered with an interest in complex neurodisability management and neurorehabilitation. Basic knowledge in spasticity management, posture management, Hydrotherapy, splinting and experience with ventilated patients and patients with tracheostomies is desirable. You will have the opportunity to gain practical skills in postural assessment and prescribing seating & sleep systems and positioning programmes, fabricating splints, Hydrotherapy treatments, spasticity assessments and treatments and other active and passive gym based sessions.
You will have the opportunity to work with adult patients with a variety of Neurological conditions, including traumatic and hypoxic brain injuries, degenerative neurological conditions, Spinal cord injuries, complex strokes and congenital conditions, patients dependent on ventilators and tracheostomies, patients who are actively weaned from ventilators/ tracheostomies and patients admitted for slow stream rehabilitation. Work based learning is complemented by interdisciplinary working and by completing competencies in the above mentioned clinical areas.
You will have the opportunity to continue your professional development and have access to expert clinical supervisors. Examples of courses to be hosted in 2019 include ATACP approved Foundation Hydrotherapy Course, An Intermediate Hydrotherapy course and a 4-day Posture management of people with complex Neurodisabilities course. In addition to in-house supervision you will also have opportunities to take part in research and service development activities gaining a wider understanding of the Hospital's Clinical Givernance framework.
Salary will be in band 5/6 range and will be dependent on experience.
