Job Title:         Physiotherapist (number of positions available, Full time/Part time/Casual)

 

Location:         Tannadice Park, Tannadice Street, Dundee, DD3 7JW

 

Hours:             Variable dependant on role

 

Job Purpose

We are currently recruiting for more than one position. We require a full time Physiotherapist to work with our Academy players. We also require a part time Physiotherapist to work with our Women's Team and we also have some casual/bank staff positions available too. 

Main responsibilities:

  • To provide medical services to all players from Dundee United Football Club Women & Academy players
  • To provide leadership, administrative and management services in relation to all DUFCW/Academy medical requirements
  • To provide, manage and coordinate medical cover for development and all academy squads training sessions, matches and tours.
  • To assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate all injuries and illnesses, analysing and designing the safest and quickest strategy to ensure a full return to training.
  • To monitor and assess all players for their fitness and injury status to train or play.
  • To promote and protect the health and wellbeing of all players.
  • To maintain excellent communication regarding injury status, rehabilitation strategies and return to training projections within the medical department and to the management team.
  • To maintain detailed records for all activities in the department in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • To be responsible for all the DUFCW medical supplies and equipment stock
  • To consult with medical staff of loan and international players to ensure they are informed whilst on loan or international duty.
  • To undertake continuous professional development
  • Be actively involved in an interdisciplinary approach of working within the department that includes close links to all areas of the club.
  • To provide support to the Dundee United FC medical department
  • To liaise with the Head of Medicine concerning all medical/health related matters for academy or development players when needed
  • Contribute to the departments strategies and pro-actively seek out innovative ideas.
  • Actively engage with the day to day running of the medical department

 

Qualifications & Training:

  • BSc or MSc Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Current advanced resuscitation and emergency aid qualification
  • Evidence of an extensive and structured CPD portfolio – including post graduate qualifications showing a range of clinical skills e.g. manipulative therapy, movement dysfunction assessment, real time ultrasound, soft tissue mobilisation/manipulation, acute injury management, acupuncture.
  • Valid full driver licence

Desirable experience

  • At least 3years experience in the provision of medical services to elite athletes, which includes work with high performance teams or squads.
  • Working experience in the support and preparation of developing elite athletes, with specific expertise in injury diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation
  • Experience in the provision of pitch-side medical assessment and treatment, including emergency sports trauma.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment, incorporating all aspects of football medicine and science.
