Physiotherapist

Oaklands College is committed to ensuring that our students thrive during their time with us, and their holistic needs are met. We are recruiting a self-employed qualified physiotherapist to work directly with our students with additional needs in the SEND provision.
We are a mainstream Further Education provider that has a sizeable provision for students with additional support needs and/or complex learning and physical difficulties and disabilities.
The successful candidate will deliver therapy in order to meet individual needs stated in the student’s EHCP, enhancing their ability to access their educational curriculum. You would be expected to plan your working week dependent on the needs of your caseload; based on student attendance patterns your workload will vary throughout the academic year.
Experience of working with young people with complex physical and learning disabilities would be an advantage. Successful candidates would have strong expressive communication skills and the ability to advocate assertively on behalf of vulnerable adults. Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential. To be considered for the role you should hold a current degree level physiotherapy qualification be registered with the HCPC and have at least two years graduate physiotherapy experience in a suitable field.
The role involves assessing movement abilities, postural care, mobility needs, equipment provision and promoting participation in physical activities. The role offers scope for creativity, advanced problem solving and has a strong emphasis on team working and collaboration.
The role is part of a dynamic and dedicated therapy team (including a therapy assistant) who work together with the education team, NHS services and a variety of community and social care services.
The successful candidate will invoice the college directly at the rate of £60 per hour for your services. If appointed the worker will need to provide evidence of UTR Self Employed number/certificate and Indemnity Insurance with policy holder name.
