As we recruit our first cohort of 4th year MSci physiotherapy students, the expanding School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP) is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for three full time Lecturers in Physiotherapy to join our dynamic and progressive academic team. Your expertise may lie in musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiorespiratory or community physiotherapy. The School is situated at the heart of Keele University’s beautiful and vibrant campus. The post-holder will teach across the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.

You would be joining the growing School of Allied Health Professions, with over 45 academic staff; enthusiastic educators and researchers.  You will play a part in the development of educational initiatives aligned with the School strategic direction, and will pursue scholarly/ research activities in line with the School focus.  You will be an HCPC registered (or equivalent) physiotherapist, with an appreciation of the principles and practice of teaching and learning in higher education.

The School offers high quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision and is part of a wider research and scholarly community across the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS).  We teach two cohorts of pre-registration Masters Physiotherapy programmes, via either a 4 year MSci or a 2 year accelerated MSc route, both qualifying programmes. Additionally, lecturers contribute expertise to the BSc Rehabilitation and Exercise Science programme, and, where appropriate, to the BSc Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging), both stablished and growing programmes within the School, as well as the new MSc Prosthetics and Orthotics programme.

The Keele Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic is situated on campus and also serves as a placement for students. In additional to recently upgraded practical physiotherapy teaching space, the School is proud of the state-of-the-art movement analysis laboratory (gait lab), cutting edge prosthetics and orthotics workshop, and Faculty on campus “health houses” where FMHS students benefit from learning experience in an authentic community setting. Student physiotherapists have interprofessional educational learning opportunities with other Faculty students including student: nurses, midwives, doctors, radiographers, prosthetists, orthotists, pharmacists, paramedics, social workers, counsellors and biomedical scientists.
