About this role
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist educator to undertake the temporary role of Lecturer in Physiotherapy, with the School of Nursing and Allied Health, joining our highly professional, committed and student focused academic community at the end of February. This could be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain University experience within a gold rated teaching excellence framework. The post is part-time (0.8fte), for up to one year covering a period of maternity leave, based on the Chichester campus; we will consider a secondment. As a Physiotherapy Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Health, the working year will be divided between teaching, teaching-related administration, assessment and research. You will contribute to the delivery of Physiotherapy education enhancing the student experience on all physio programmes; providing students with a high-quality, research informed educational experience leading to an understanding of healthcare practice and the achievement of both academic and professional qualifications. You will also contribute to innovative interprofessional projects within the school and wider collaborations.
About you
The appointed post holder will have a good relevant undergraduate degree with further professional or academic qualifications at Masters level in Physiotherapy; you will be a practicing Physiotherapist currently on HCPC register for minimum of 2 years and will be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), ideally experienced in Cardio/Respiratory and with the knowledge of supporting learners in clinical practice. You will also demonstrate the ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn. In addition, you will have current experience of working in an educational role around the profession and/or another Higher Education Institute.
Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to students.
