Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care provides supportive and end of life care for people living with an advanced or terminal illness. Based in Farnham and Guildford, we serve a population of 550,000 across West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

JOB TITLE: Lead Physiotherapist

28hours per week

Salary £28,758 (WTE £36,975)

Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Physiotherapist to lead the Physiotherapy team at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care.

The role provides clinical leadership and management for the PTHC Physiotherapist team who work across the Community areas of Guildford & Waverley, Surrey Heath, NE Hampshire & Farnham, the PTHC Living Well sites of Farnham and Guildford and on the In-Patient Unit. 

The post holder will be an expert clinical resource within PTHC multidisciplinary team, a natural educator, and have good communication skills, liaising with patients, their families and carers, as well as with health care professionals.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have extensive current experience of Physiotherapy  in a variety of clinical settings
  • Have proven leadership and management skills and a vision for advancing the role of physiotherapy and rehabilitative care within PTHC (In-Patient Unit, Care at Home, Living Well) alongside other MDT colleagues.
  • Have experience of working with patients with complex diagnoses including cancer, progressive neurological conditions and advanced respiratory and cardiac disease.
  • Have a good understanding of specialist palliative care and a passion for the benefits of palliative rehabilitation. 
  • Be a team player with excellent networking skills
