Are you looking to make a change in your life whilst also progressing your career? We have a great opportunity for you in NHS Fife in our specialist service for adults with Learning Disabilities.

Fife is a beautiful area of Scotland which sits between the two major cities of Edinburgh and Dundee. It has a great mixture of towns, fishing villages, magnificent beaches and peaceful countryside making it an ideal place to balance your working life and your leisure time.

Our small, friendly team are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join them as Team lead. The team provides Physiotherapy input to adults with a Learning Disability who would find it challenging to access mainstream Physiotherapy services. You will see a large variety of physical conditions ranging from musculoskeletal to those with longer rehabilitation needs, and some people will have multiple disabilities and communication difficulties.

You will work in collaboration with a larger multidisciplinary team and other health and social care partners to meet the needs of this vulnerable group. As a Band 7 you will provide clinical support and mentorship and be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the team.

You will have the opportunity to work in an integrated Postural Management service across health and social care, in line with the Scottish National Postural Care Strategy – Your Posture matters. Hydrotherapy, rebound therapy, exercise prescription and promoting physical activity are also part of the role making it a varied and enjoyable working week.

There are strong links with other Physiotherapy Teams in Fife and you will have the opportunity to be involved in taking the Profession forward alongside your peers and leaders via our exciting Physiotherapy Professional strategy. We have an experienced leadership team who will provide you with support, mentorship and development opportunities.

Experience working with people with Learning Disabilities is not vital, but a desire to work with this client group and a knowledge and understanding of their needs is important. Further detail is available in the person spec and job description.

If you are interested in a move to this lovely part of Scotland, give us a call, we would be delighted to chat to you.

For informal enquiries, please contact Gillian Bell, Operational Lead Physiotherapist on 01383 565384 or email on gillian.bell2@nhs.scot.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.
