An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapist who has a passion for hand therapy to join our dedicated team here at Dorset County Hospital.

Our Hand Therapy Department is a well-established truly generic service that works very closely with the Orthopaedic Hand Surgeons and wider multidisciplinary team. It is based within the main hospital in the centre of Dorchester.

Band 6 Application: some experience within the field of hand therapy and splint making is essential. You would be expected to undertake assessment and treatment management of patients with a wide range of hand/forearm/elbow related conditions including: acquired conditions, trauma, post-surgery, rheumatology, splinting/casting.

Band 5-6 Accelerator Application: some experience in the field of hand therapy would be preferable but we would be happy to consider further in-post training. The Accelerator post would involve the successful completion of competencies before progression to a B6 role.

You will be expected to play a role/assist in audits/service development.

You will also be expected to participate in the teaching of rotational staff and undergraduate students and take part in the delivery of CPD/in-service training of the hand therapy team in general

There is good support and encouragement for CPD and peer support through a thriving regional hand therapy network.

A minimum of 2 years Band 5 experience is essential for this post.
