Full time – 37.5 hrs per week over a 7-day period; to include weekends and a shift pattern

Overview:

 

The Cromwell Hospital is a major private hospital in West London providing Outpatient and Inpatient services.

 

This is an exciting new role for a general Physiotherapist to participate in and contribute to delivering an agile, high-quality Physiotherapy service to a wide variety of inpatients and outpatients. Referrals are received from the neurology, oncology, cardio-respiratory, intensive care, rehabilitation, orthopaedic and surgical teams or via various outpatient routes. You will participate in the respiratory on-call rota and will have an opportunity to cover additional shifts over weekends.

 

This role does not include MSK Physiotherapy.

 

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Providing assessment, treatment, and discharge planning to a caseload of patients with a variety of clinical presentations. Your intervention will be both client-centred and evidence-based.

  • Establishing and maintaining efficient communication within the multi-disciplinary team (both internal and external) to ensure a holistic and complete duty of care. This includes verbal, non-verbal or written communication, both in expression and active listening, to facilitate accurate comprehension of information.

  • Assisting colleagues in other specialities as your caseload and competence allows. You will have an opportunity to grow and further develop in your profession through exposure to a varied patient caseload.

  • Supporting Bupa's vision, mission statement and values.

  • Acting as a resource of specialist advice for patients, clients and colleagues within the scope of your experience and knowledge.

  • Participating in hospital and departmental processes that support and encourage professional and personal development of yourself and your colleagues.

  • Practising as an autonomous and accountable professional using reflective practise and clinical reasoning in undertaking specialist assessment in order to provide an individualised treatment programme for each patient.

  • Providing appropriate information, education and support for your client group and their carers.

  • Obtaining informed, valid consent on an ongoing basis which endeavours to keep patients involved in their own health care plan.

 

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy

  • HCPC Registration

  • DBS clearance

  • Proven experience as a qualified Physiotherapist in an acute hospital setting

  • Evidence of a broad range of clinical experience as a band 5 physiotherapist, ready to take on band 6 responsibilities

  • Exposure working in AICU, surgery, respiratory, rehabilitation, neurology, and orthopaedics

  • Sound clinical reasoning skills

  • Knowledge of health and safety issues in a therapy setting
