Southampton Primary Care Limited provide a First Contact Physiotherapy Service in our GP practices for patients with musculoskeletal problems. 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for Band 7 physiotherapist to join our developing service.   

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Senior Physiotherapists with a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions to work closely with GPs in GP Practices.. 

This role is suitable for physiotherapists with significant post graduate experience in the management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The First Contact Practitioner (FCP ) will work as an autonomous practitioner using advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills to assess and diagnose where possible. They will provide the patient with self-management advice including exercises and should on-going treatment be required they will refer the patient onto the most appropriate pathway of care. 

At this stage the physiotherapists in these roles will not be investigating, prescribing or injecting but we intend to offer and support training opportunities within the year.
