Come and join our Physiotherapy team in the Western General Hospital in one of the most visited

cities in the world – Edinburgh!

We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, proactive physiotherapists to join our

Respiratory Medicine and CF Physiotherapy team at the Western General Hospital. The

Physiotherapy team is embedded within the Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis multi-disciplinary teams.

You will clinically lead and develop the Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis Physiotherapy service in

conjunction with the Respiratory Team Lead Physiotherapist. You will deliver physiotherapy

assessments and treatments to our complex patients with chronic respiratory conditions including

Cystic Fibrosis within Ward 54 - the respiratory ward in the Western General Hospital. You will also

help clinically lead a CF service provided to a Transition clinic for young adults at the Royal Hospital

for young children, attend multi-disciplinary clinics at the WGH, and provide input for some patients

in their home setting as well as contribute to wider Scottish clinics. In addition, there is an

opportunity to contribute to the creation and development of a new outpatient respiratory service

at the WGH site.

Candidates must display evidence of extensive clinical experience in a variety of acute respiratory in-

patient and community areas. Previous experience in CF would be desirable but not essential. Ability

to prioritise, assess and treat a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of

communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship

and appraisal of other staff members/students is expected, as is evidence of multi-disciplinary

working. A background in service development with knowledge of QI methodology is required.

This exciting post within an evolving speciality will allow the successful candidate to gain extensive

and in-depth experience as a band 7 Clinical Specialist physiotherapist and gain or add to expertise in

the area of CF and respiratory medicine.

Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD

opportunities.
