Vacancy details

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen within Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) Musculoskeletal Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (MCATS) for an Advanced Musculoskeletal(MSK)Practitioner(s) to join our team.

The CCICP MCATS team has an established workforce and provides First Contact Practitioner’s (FCP’s) to local GP practices supporting the pressures within primary care. The data collected from this pioneering FCP work has contributed to papers due to be published by Keele University.

In February 2018 the MCATS service received investment to launch an MSK Single Point of Access for Central Cheshire. The MSK Single point of access triages all GP referrals to Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Pain consultants. The MCATS team work closely alongside Consultant, GP, Nursing and AHP colleagues to support patient pathways and ensure the patients receive the right care first time. The impact of the work has gained a nomination for the national HSJ award for community and Primary care service redesign.

The post requires flexibility to work within MCATS community clinics or FCP clinics at GP practices or other developing areas to support increased access to MSK services.

The post requires highly specialist triage, assessment and treatment skills to manage complex Musculoskeletal cases to include acute or chronic conditions. You will be expected to have a broad range of advanced practice knowledge and skills to incorporate the medical management of MSK patients and early identification of serious pathology. Evidence from your application must include relevant experience and post-graduate training. We also welcome suitable applicants who are aspiring to Advanced MSK Practice but notyetfully meeting the job description, who are ready to progress within a training/developmental post.

The current posts available are full or part time basis to cover the South and Vale Royal Primary Care locations within the Central Cheshire Footprint. You will be expected to work as part of a team with other Advanced MSK Practitioners, GP with Specialist interest in MSK and Advanced Clinical Specialist therapists to support the advancing MSK service and ensure robust evidence based clinical practice is disseminated down through the service.

The post holder must have the ability to converse with service managers, consultants and GP's to support links with these services and promote the service in a positive manner. They will also be expected to support with implementing innovative, efficient and effective ways of working within the area of MSK conditions.
