Vacancy details

Due to maternity leave, we have a vacancy for a Band 6 Physiotherapist until April 2020.

We are looking for someone who is an enthusiastic team player to join the Keswick & Solway ICC - to be based in Keswick, but required to work throughout the ICC, depending on demand.

You will need to be experienced in dealing with a variety of patient conditions, and be able to use your assessment and clinical judgement skills to the full. Ideally, you will also have some community experience.

The main focus of the Community Rehab Teams is to keep people at home (facilitating discharges or preventing admission) but we also see patients on the ward at Keswick Hospital, run an exercise group and Balance & Falls group, and have a caseload of patients with long-term conditions.

The post is supported by an amazing team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Rehab Assistants, Home Care Practitioners and Admin staff. We work very closely with the local GP’s, District Nurses and Mental Health Team, as well as Adult Social Care and other agencies, and with all the staff on the ward at Keswick Hospital.

The post requires 7 day working on a rota basis, covering the hours between 8am and 8pm – 3 x 7 hour shifts.

Must be able to travel independently of public transport.

Informal enquiries: contact either Ruth Mitchell or Jenny Griffiths from the Keswick Rehab Team for further information (01768) 245671

ICCs aim to address the challenges of an aging population and increasing demand on health and care services by providing more out of hospital care and empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing. This will require new ways of working to focus on preventing ill health and ensure services are sustainable for the future. These new ways of working will follow the same approach across all eight ICCs with flexibility to tailor services to the needs of local people.

A short animation has been developed to explain why we need ICCs and how they will work: https://youtu.be/DeysdmvzHoEHi

Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.

  • Please ensure that you document evidence of meeting all the essential criteria in the supporting information.
  • If sufficient response is received this post could be closed earlier than the specified closing date, please apply as soon as possible to ensure that your application is considered.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4 = deduction from salary as a one off payment or over 3months at £10 a month

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4 = deduction from salary as one off payment or £15 deduction from 1st months salary, £11 deduction from salary over following 3 months.
