New opportunity for advanced practice training for physios in England

Health Education England's Centre for Advancing Practice has announced that funding has been secured for a new cohort of staff to go through their e-Portfolio Route.

How advanced practice fits within the scope of the profession

The funding will enable experienced advanced practitioners to gain recognition for this from the Centre for Advancing Practice, opening up future career opportunities.

The portal for ‘Expressions of interest’ is now open and will close on 5pm on 28 September 2022.

What it offers learners is a bespoke learner-centred education package, with support from a team of experienced academics and clinical staff to complete the learning needs analyses and act as academic coaches to enable them to submit their e-portfolio within 12 months.

For the first time with the e-Portfolio Route for Advanced Practice, it includes clinicians who want to deploy their advanced practice skills in community rehabilitation for people with long-term conditions. Members interested in this should check community rehabilitation when completing their ‘Expressions of interest’ form to be streamlined to the correct programme.

Hannah Morley,  professional adviser and advanced practice lead for the CSP said: ‘Physios and AHPs often struggle to get recognition for advanced practice skills.

This is a great opportunity for members to have their advanced practice skills recognised, and I urge members take full advantage of it
