New Chief AHP Officer for Scotland

Carolyn McDonald has been appointed to the CAHPO role at the Scottish government and will be joining the team in the New Year.

Carolyn trained in Ireland as an occupational therapist, qualifying in 1985 and has worked all of her professional life in Scotland.  She commenced her career in NHS Tayside but has worked mostly in NHS Fife in both acute and community roles.  For the past 10 years she has been the Associate Director for the Allied Health Professions in the Board with strategic leadership for all AHPs. 

 

Kenryck Lloyd-Jones, CSP Public Affairs Manager for Scotland, welcomed the appointment, “On behalf of the members in Scotland I’d like to congratulate Carolyn and welcome her to her new role. We very much look forward to working with Carolyn to strengthen and enhance the contribution of physiotherapy and other allied health professions to health and wellbeing."
