Angie Logan

Angie qualified as physiotherapist in 2007 from Plymouth University. She completed her junior rotations in Portsmouth Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and in 2009 moved to Cornwall to take up a Specialist Physiotherapist post in the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit . In 2010 Angie began her MSc Neurological Rehabilitation, finishing in 2013. She secured funding from Health Education England to undertake a 12 month Clinical Academic Training Programme Internship in 2014, where she worked one day per week developing a proposal for the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship.

In April 2016 she was awarded £267,000 for a three year Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship to undertake a clinical trial to determine the feasibility of a functional standing frame programme versus usual physiotherapy for people with severe stroke as part of their inpatient sub-acute stroke rehabilitation. Angie continues to work clinically as well as lead her research throughout Cornwall and Devon.


Jane Mitchell

Jane Mitchell MSc MCSP (left) is the Professional Lead for Physiotherapy for the NHS in Cornwall with an integrated role covering both the Acute and Community Trusts. She has been a practicing Physiotherapist since qualifying in 1990 and has had a wide and diverse career involving senior roles in ITU, Trauma and Orthopaedics and ED as well as involvement in national and international sport.

In more recent years she has been the Musculoskeletal Clinical Lead in Cornwall evolving the Musculoskeletal Interface Service from its outset whilst also practicing as an Advance Practice Physiotherapist for patients with hip and knee conditions. During this time Jane undertook an 18 month secondment within commissioning (2010) and led on the redesign of the musculoskeletal services in Cornwall. Jane is a member of the South West Clinical Senate Council and was formerly a member of the Professional Executive Committee of the late Primary Care Trust within Cornwall. She is enjoying her fairly new Professional Lead role and is getting to know all of the Physiotherapists and their specialities within Cornwall. Jane is reinvigorated in her passion for the Physiotherapy profession and would like as many Physiotherapists from all walks of life to engage and help shape the way ahead for Physiotherapy in the land of opportunity that we are currently in!
