Stronger My Way has hit the ground running since its launch at the start of April 2022

The online hub has had tens of thousands of visits and reach across social media is beyond 300,000. Here’s a round-up of initial activity and some feedback from users of the new resources.

You may have spotted the campaign being mentioned in Marie Claire online, or across Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Express & Star West Midlands or the Eastern Daily Press, among other titles.

  • Did you hear Leanne Antoine on BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester? Leanne was advising on simple strengthening exercises that can be done while the kettle boils and signposted to the hub (82,000 weekly listeners).
  • Lisa Osborn-Jenkins, specialist MSK Physiotherapist was on BBC Radio Solent (205,000 weekly listeners) highlighting signs of muscle loss for listeners to look out for.
  • On British National Tea Day on 21 April, Chris Martey, a First Contact Physiotherapist, was interviewed by BBC Radio Nottingham and advised on at-home exercises that can be done while boiling the kettle. ‘We’re talking about strength training, specifically for those muscles which get weaker. A lot of people think of getting weaker with age, but in fact it is happening to people much younger, in their 30s and 40s. And this is because people are not doing the full spectrum of activity that the body needs.’
  • Versus Arthritis, Stroke Association and the MS Society included content in their publications too.
