Members are being called to action to register their involvement in the CSPs Move for Health campaign before the 1 July launch.
This issue of Frontline contains a poster and Easy Exercise Guide, explaining how people can safely increase their physical activity levels, to help members support the CSP in its most high profile, public facing campaign in recent years. To make sure the Move for Health message is disseminated as widely as possible members who have registered by 9am on 24 June can request 50 free copies of the leaflet to give to patients and colleagues. These will be posted out ahead of the launch. Those requesting extra leaflets after the cut-off date will be required to pay for postage. Move for Health will highlight the contribution that physiotherapy can make to the prevention of illness and the promotion of good health through physical activity and has strong links with government agendas to improve the health and fitness of the nation. All members are being urged to take part and can use the dedicated Move for Health webpage for ideas and guidance on how to get involved. After the general launch this summer, Move for Health will narrow its focus in September concentrating on children. They will be encouraged to be more active through a series of ‘healthy schools days’, to be held in primary schools in conjunction with the British Dietetic Association. Next year the campaign will target older people, while the emphasis on helping people to stay fit for work will be a constant theme throughout the campaign.
