Editor's comment: don't forget your toothbrush

Summer’s here, says managing editor Lynn Eaton, and – for those of you lucky enough to be taking a holiday in the coming weeks – it’s a chance to unwind for a bit, forget about work and (family commitments permitting) maybe even take stock and think about your next career move.

It’s also a time when many newly-graduated physios will be starting their first job. Here’s wishing all of you well in your career. Remember, the CSP is here to help you along the way, as our cover feature demonstrates.

Frontline, along with the various other online channels for keeping in touch with your profession, will keep you abreast of what’s going on out there in your professional world. We hope too it will inspire you in your own career.

In this issue you can read about the pioneering work of Tracey Howe, who’s highlighting the potential of using cardboard to make assistive devices for people with disabilities; catch up on the inspirational work of Margot Streatfield, a support worker who’s gone the extra mile in her career; and find out top tips for developing your career.

Holidays should be a relaxing time, but can bring their own set of stresses. (Have you packed your toothbrush?) Nonetheless, I hope you find some time to unwind. Once you’re away from the daily pressures it’s so much easier to be inspired to try something new, either in your workplace or your personal life.

And if you want inspiration while you’re away, remember that all the content of Frontline is available on our website or your mobile phone. No need to pack the magazine in your suitcase!
