Comment: Ringing the changes

Leadership is a running theme throughout this issue. From our award-winning physio Vanessa Haycock and her team in Newcastle upon Tyne through to the CPD article (pages 24 and 32 respectively), we hope you’ll find plenty to inspire you to go that extra mile.

A key skill of a leader is knowing when to listen to others, and when to respond. And that’s what we’ve been doing here at Frontline, bringing you a new-look magazine.

You’ve told us, through focus groups and feedback, that you value the magazine highly. That, because Frontline lands on your doormat, it is the most highly visible face you see of the CSP.

Despite the interaction many of you have with the society through the weekly electronic news bulletin, website and iCSP, you said you still want a printed magazine, 21 times a year. It’s as a key part of your membership, keeping you abreast of what’s happening in your profession and changes in employment.

Yet, with so many demands on your reading time nowadays – Twitter, Facebook, email – it’s easy to feel you are drowning in a sea of information. You wanted Frontline content presented in a cleaner way, with a clearer contents page and a simpler, less heavily designed, approach.

So, enjoy! We hope you like what you see. Watch out for some of the new features we have lined up for you over coming issues. And – please – do let us know what you think of the changes. We’re listening! Lynn Eaton  managing editor Frontline and head of CSP member communications eatonl@csp.org.uk
