How many weekends might I have to work if a seven-day service starts?
Currently there is no ‘model’ rostering system available for physio departments to use when introducing seven-day services. Weekends must be fairly allocated to ensure that staff have adequate weekly rest (Working Time Regulations 2013). Employers should ensure that, as far as possible, working patterns are predictable, shift allocation is available as far in advance as possible and short notice changes to working days are avoided. The introduction of seven-day services and the local policy regarding the allocation of weekend working should always be developed in partnership with the individuals concerned and their CSP representatives.
