Course Outline
In response to requests from therapists for a specifically designed course on hand function and rehabilitation this BBTA 1.5 day Workshop, delivered by Sue Armstrong, Advanced Bobath Tutor, has been developed.
The clinical focus will be on working with a neurological caseload but the principles can be applied to other clinical settings. The course is suitable for qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
The course will include a theoretical component including relevant neurophysiology and systems control of hand function, practical sessions on assessment and treatment interventions, from promoting early involvement in sensorimotor rehabilitation, to requirements for recovery of high level dexterity and function. Clinical workshops are planned and adequate time for clinical reasoning and discussion in this complex but important area of rehabilitation.
