How are changes to the structure of the Council and its committees agreed by Members at the 2017 CSP Annual General Meeting bedding in?

At the AGM members agreed to significant changes to the leadership and decision making structures, with a smaller Council of 12 elected members and three committees – the Employment Committee, the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee and the Professional Committee.

An interim Council, with Catherine Pope continuing in her role as Chair, served until April 2018. New elected Council members took up post in April, with Alex MacKenzie as the new Chair of Council and Claire Arditto as the Vice Chair.

At the same time committee vacancies were advertised. Panels made up of Council members assessed applications against the person specification and shortlisted candidates interviewed over the phone. The Professional Committee met for the first time in July, the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee in August and the Employment Committee will meet in November.

Council elections are next scheduled for summer 2020, when six places on Council will be available. Vacancies on all three committees will be advertised at the same time. We will advertise vacancies online and through CSP networks.
