The CSP PLI scheme allows members to work anywhere in the world provided they meet the general overseas requirements of the policy. Specific overseas restrictions apply for United States of America (USA), Canada and Australia. This page is for general information only and does not override the actual PLI policy wording.

- In the ‘chartered member’, ‘student member*’ or ‘associate’ membership categories. There is no PLI cover in our other membership category.

- Licensed with the local licensing authority in the county they will be visiting, where such licensing is required.
- Aware that it is members’ own responsibility to check the visa, registration and licensing requirements needed to work in any overseas country, and any fees that may be associated with these. World Physiotherapy has details of worldwide physiotherapy member organisations.
- Aware that overseas cover is limited to 180 days in any 12-month period (except when working for the military)
- *Students: You must also comply with the supervision requirements for overseas practice placements.

Working for British-based teams and/or organisations AND visiting British-based clients anywhere in the world
- The policy requirement for CSP members to be registered and licensed overseas does not apply when the CSP member is working as part of a British-based team and /or organisation, or when visiting British-based clients overseas.
- This is because the team/organisation members and/or individual British-based clients are all treated as British (even if they include other nationals), and are therefore bound by the UK regulatory standards and UK legal system.
- All other overseas requirements and policy terms & conditions remain.
Working for the UK military armed forces
- The 180-day overseas limit does not apply to members treating UK nationals on MoD sovereign bases.
- The policy requirement for individuals to be registered & licensed overseas does not apply when providing services to UK military armed forces on UK sovereign base areas only.
- All other overseas requirements and policy terms & conditions remain.
