We have a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Barnet Learning Disability Service who pride themselves in driving change and improving lives! As part of an integrated service you will have access to a supportive multidisciplinary health and social care team, helping you achieve your development objectives whilst delivering excellent clinical care.

You will be part of a friendly and dynamic team and can expect to utilise your knowledge, skills and experience by promoting quality care. The caseload comprises adults with learning disabilities and additional complex needs including, neuromuscular disorders e.g. Cerebral Palsy, genetic syndromes, mobility and movement difficulties and sensory processing disorders. These complex needs often require postural management solutions including wheelchairs, seating, sleep systems and orthotics.  We are using virtual assessment some of the time in this period of Covid.

You will support evidence-based practice and values-centred approaches and be able to work independently and autonomously but also jointly with other therapists and with external agencies  and company reps. You will be utilising clinical assessment skills and demonstrating sound clinical decision making. You will have some experience in rehabilitation and neurology and some experience of working with people with a Learning Disability.

You will not only carry a varied caseload, but you will have the support of and work with a small but very experienced physiotherapy team.  The role also involves supporting the Team with the Dementia Pathway and be a Falls Champion as well as be involved in complex health management. You should be an excellent communicator and have a desire to work within a community setting, including day centres and colleges, as well as peoples’ homes.
