The Pediatric Physiotherapist provides the assessment and management of children with complex needs and motor impairment across the inpatient and outpatient settings and within the community.

Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with children from birth through 17 years of age whose diagnoses may include a wide range of neurological and developmental conditions including, but not limited to, prematurity, gross motor delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Acquired Brain Injury, Hypotonia, Muscular Dystrophy, Torticollis/Plagiocephaly, and other genetic disorders. In addition, it will provide specialist evaluation, advice, and training of patients, families, and other professional staff on the management of children across musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, and neurology to maximize function & participation and minimize the impact of disability on well-being and ability to participate in daily life.

Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or the equivalent, three (3) years of postgraduate experience, be eligible for registration to practice in the Cayman Islands, and hold a valid license to practice in either Canada, South Africa, UK, USA, Jamaica, or New Zealand. Completion of certificate and/or training courses to support patients with spasticity and those in need of neurorehabilitation and completion of certificate and/or training courses to support neonatal management. A valid driver’s license is desirable. The ability to interact effectively with a diverse population and excellent time management skills are needed. Capability for proactive approaches and working effectively within a team environment are also essential.
