Vacancy details

If you enjoy working with children and young people aged 0-19 years, this is a rare opportunity to further develop skills in the area of paediatric physiotherapy. We are looking for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Physiotherapist to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team, based at Footsteps Child Development Centre in Whitehaven. You would be responsible for the assessment, treatment and management of babies, children and young people who present with a wide variety of conditions in both community and acute settings, including acute, chronic, complex, disabling and life limiting conditions, under the guidance and support of senior colleagues. As well as excellent clinical skills, you will need communication and time management skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team or autonomously in the community. You would be required to travel independently as the role includes visiting children in clinics, at home and in the school or nursery setting, as well as to NHS bases around Cumbria to attend meetings and training or development.

Working in coastal West Cumbria on the edge of UNESCOs Lake District World Heritage Site means that in your spare time you have the opportunity to take part in fell walking, mountain biking, rock climbing and water sports. You could visit various festivals and country pubs as well as experiencing lively nightlife, great shops and culture. Cumbrian local authorities dominate a list of top ten areas that offer both low pollution levels and affordable property prices for homebuyers (Future Climate Info, 2017). There is easy access to transport links to larger cities, such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester or Leeds. This is a great post in a picturesque area.
