Lead Paediatric Physiotherapist

Band 8A £42,414 - £50,470 per annum

Full-time 37.5 hours per week (part-time hours may be considered)

 

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to be appointed to a key operational management and professional leadership role within the children’s physiotherapy service, Combined Child Health.  

The postholder will work alongside other Allied Health Professional (AHP) disciplines, including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Dietetics, to provide a cohesive and co-ordinated children’s therapy service; he / she will be accountable to the lead allied health professional within Combined Child Health.   The successful candidate will be required to work closely with a wide range of other professionals from health and other agencies.  There is good team working with other physiotherapy services across NHS Grampian.

The Physiotherapy Team comprises 17.55 wte staff who are based in 7 different locations within Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.  

The service provides input for children from birth to school leaving age, with a diverse range of conditions.  The team assesses and treats children within the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, acute services, in and out patients – from most specialty areas, as well as in community settings, such as clinic, educational and home settings across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

Applicants must be a qualified, HCPC registered Physiotherapist, with significant professional experience, as well as having a management qualification or equivalent experience.  He / she should be able to demonstrate effective leadership eg of teams and projects, have experience of service development and improvement, as well as excellent communication skills.  An awareness of policy and practice issues relevant to the children’s agenda and to paediatric physiotherapy is essential.

The post also has the potential to be combined with other clinical duties within the service, depending on the expertise of the successful applicant.
