Vacancy details

We are looking for a Band 5 Physiotherapist - Learning Disabilities, Wiltshire Health and Care - Fixed term full or part-time, week day hours based in Chippenham, Marlborough, Salisbury or Trowbridge (possible secondment opportunity)

Do you want to:
• Broaden your skills? Gain experience in a different team?
• Work flexibly? Organizing your own diary with some home working and the option to work full or part time, without weekend or evening work?
• Work in a friendly and supportive team with regular joint working, supervision and CPD opportunities?

We have a fixed term Band 5 vacancy, duration is at least six months but if the successful applicant choses to work part time this could be extended. Our standard full time working week is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, no on-call.

We would welcome applications from newly qualified physiotherapists as well as people with more experience and we are open to applications for a secondment from within Wiltshire Health and Care or from outside. Our team for adults with learning disabilities are mostly employed by Wiltshire Health and Care but work closely with social care and the successful applicant can choose which Wiltshire Council hub to be based in from Chippenham, Salisbury or Trowbridge, or can base themselves at Savernake Hospital.

This is an opportunity to work with people who have learning disabilities, as part of a caring and committed multidisicpinary team that is focused on partnership working and high quality person centred care. In our supportive environment you will gain experience of providing physiotherapy to this client group and assessing for and providing a range of specialist equipment (e.g. walkers and seating). You will benefit from regular supervision, joint working and expert, evidence based ‘in house’ training in the 24-hour approach to postural assessment and management, spasticity, sensory integration and meaningful engagement, epilepsy, positive behavioural management and frailty. You will also be part of our ‘Stay Active – Stay Well’ training and events programme, led by the physiotherapy team.

Please see NHS Jobs for the job description and further information regarding the job responsibilities and the person specification for required experience, skills and qualifications.
