Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist Location: Resilience Therapy Centre, Abbey Park, Stareton, Warwickshire Reports to: Clinical Lead Employment Type: Full time Salary: £45k - 55k per annum depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Neurological Physiotherapist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Resilience Therapy Centre in Warwickshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist outpatient neurorehabilitation setting that integrates advanced rehabilitation technology with expert, evidence-based therapy.
The Resilience Therapy Centre brings together robotics, motion analysis, functional electrical stimulation and hands-on specialist therapy to deliver personalised, outcome-focused neurorehabilitation.
You will manage a varied caseload of adults with complex neurological conditions including brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Functional Neurological Disorder and complex trauma. Depending on experience, the post holder will work at an experienced Band 6 level or Band 7 equivalent, contributing to service development, quality improvement and clinical leadership within the physiotherapy pathway.
Key Responsibilities
Neuro Physiotherapy assessment and treatment
- Undertake comprehensive neurological physiotherapy assessments using standardised outcome measures.
- Formulate clear problem lists, goals and structured treatment plans.
- Deliver specialist neurological physiotherapy using evidence-based approaches.
- Integrate advanced rehabilitation technology into therapy programmes, including robotic gait training, motion analysis and electrical stimulation.
- Manage a complex caseload independently, prioritising effectively.
- Identify and manage clinical risks, complications and safeguarding concerns.
- Provide therapy within the Centre and, where required, in community settings.
- Produce high-quality written reports for referrers including case managers, solicitors and insurers.
Technology-Enabled Rehabilitation
- Deliver therapy using specialist equipment including robotic gait trainers, upper limb robotics and 3D movement analysis systems.
- Use objective data and outcome measures to inform clinical reasoning and demonstrate progress.
- Contribute to the development of technology-led rehabilitation pathways.
Interdisciplinary Working
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists and Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine.
- Participate in joint sessions and shared goal setting.
- Contribute to case discussions, clinical meetings and programme reviews.
Leadership and Service Development
- Support supervision and mentorship of Rehabilitation Coach and students.
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- Participate in clinical governance processes.
- Represent physiotherapy within interdisciplinary planning and pathway development.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with HCPC and CSP standards.
- Engage in regular CPD relevant to neurological physiotherapy and technology-assisted rehabilitation.
- Adhere to data protection and confidentiality standards.
- Act in accordance with HCPC, CSP and organisational policies.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration
- Degree in Physiotherapy or recognised equivalent qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
- Evidence of relevant post-registration CPD in neurological physiotherapy.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Experience
- Post-registration experience in core physiotherapy areas including neurology/rehabilitation.
- Demonstrable experience managing a neurological caseload.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience applying outcome measures in clinical practice.
- Experience managing risk and complex presentations.
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound clinical knowledge of common neurological conditions.
- Ability to assess, plan and deliver goal-focused rehabilitation.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours where present.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
- IT literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous Band 6 or Band 7 neurological physiotherapy experience.
- Membership of a relevant Specialist Interest Group, such as ACPIN.
- Experience in spasticity management, vestibular rehabilitation, posture and seating, FES, or casting.
- Experience in independent sector rehabilitation.
- Participation in audit or quality improvement projects.
- Experience using advanced rehabilitation technology.
- Experience as a clinical educator.
