Share your experience of the Keep Britain Working Vanguard programme

Members are being invited to help the CSP showcase innovative and effective physiotherapy practice, to increase recognition of the profession's contribution to improving work and health outcomes.

The CSP is continuing to influence the growing national Work and Health agenda, including developments linked to the Keep Britain Working Vanguard programme currently being run by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

As part of this effort, alongside our work with the Association of Chartered physiotherapists in Occupational Health & Ergonomics (ACPOHE), the CSP is asking for members linked to any of the 150 Vanguard organisations and Mayoral authorities to get in touch.

We are keen to understand how employers provide, and employees access, physiotherapy services, and the impact these services have on sickness absence, return to work and workforce wellbeing.

Pip White, CSP professional advisor, said:

We want to hear from members working in the Vanguard sites providing physio services integrated with occupational health services, rapid access MSK pathways such as FCP services, return-to-work support, workplace rehab, or partnerships with wider wellbeing, VCSE or community services.

Specifically, the CSP is asking for members who can complete the gaps in the following sentence-

“Organisation xxxx, which has xxxx staff, reduced its sickness absence by xx per cent, and helped more staff return to work, by providing access to physiotherapy in the workplace. Here, our member XXXX explains how they did it…”

Pip added that:  'You don’t need to be a member of ACPOHE.

You might be directly employed by the Vanguard, or working for an NHS/local authority, or independent practice providing services to the Vanguard – we want to hear from all of you.

If you are working with a Vanguard organisation and would be willing to share your experience, and have data to support your work, please contact the CSP Work and Health Team via workandhealth@csp.org.uk
