CSP expresses solidary with marginalised communities ahead of hate march

The CSP has condemned a planned march organised by convicted criminal Stephen Yaxley Lennon (aka Tommy Robinson), which is due to take place in London on Saturday 16 May, as intimidatory and divisive.

The CSP is expressing solidarity with Londoners from many different backgrounds who are fearful because of the march.

CSP members and staff should not have to face intimidation in their own communities. Previous events have resulted in reports to the CSP of people from London’s Black, Asian, Muslim, LGBTQIA+ and other minoritised communities feeling intimidated and under threat.

The CSP is urging people with concerns about migration or other issues not to be drawn into supporting this event. Concerns about government policies on a range of issues can and should be aired publicly, but attending a neo Nazi rally, which will cause fear in local communities, isn’t the way to raise legitimate concerns.
