We’re acting so everyone has the confidence to contribute to the knowledge base of the profession, says Meredith Newman
Advancing the science and investigating evidence about physiotherapy is at the heart of what the CSP conference does: enhancing our profession and patient care. Conference aims to grow and sustain learning opportunities for members from across the physiotherapy workforce, and to help to build professional connections and networks to support professional fulfilment and career pathways.
That’s why we’re continually exploring how to make conference more inclusive. CSP members can already apply for a Widening Participation Award for financial support to attend the annual conference, and in 2026 we are extending this scheme.
We have a range of sessions, and we’re interested in any kind of physio research, innovation or quality improvement activity. Last year around 45 per cent of abstract submissions were about service and quality improvement activities, with the remainder more formal research reports: activities that members often don’t realise contribute to the evidence shared at conference. You can submit abstracts for the main conference until 1 April and until 23 June for the student conference.
We have expanded support to members who would like to share their work, to help reduce barriers to participation, to provide opportunities for questions and increase confidence.
This month, you can join a drop-in session or our webinar on how to write a strong conference abstract.
In advance of conference, we’ll also be sharing extra resources and tips for producing a great scientific poster, and we have a webinar about delivering impactful oral presentations.
