Last week, the CSP community came together, in Wales and online, for three inspiring days of learning, networking and shaping the future of physiotherapy.
From ground-breaking discussions on AI to practical tips for new graduates, the Annual and Student Conference 2025 were packed with energy and ideas.
Day 1: Student conference highlights
The event kicked off on Thursday with a high-energy Student Conference, delivering an unforgettable day of learning and connection.
The programme featured inspiring keynotes, thought-provoking workshops, and lively panel discussions covering everything from AI in physiotherapy and physio-led rehabilitation for Parkinson’s, to navigating social media and regulation, and tips for landing that first physiotherapy role.
Students didn’t just listen, they led the way. Rapid 5 sessions and posters showcased their own research, sparking conversations and new ideas.
Alongside the learning, there were plenty of chances to build networks, discover more about the wider CSP community, and explore how students can play a huge role in shaping the profession’s future.
A huge thank you goes to our incredible student volunteers, whose hard work made the day run smoothly and welcoming for everyone.
Day 2: Keynotes, fellowships and future thinking
On Friday, the conference opened its doors to all members.
The day began with a special video message from Karin Smyth, UK government health minister, who thanked physiotherapy staff across all sectors for their contribution to the health of the nation.
We celebrated excellence with fellowships awarded to Carolyn Llewellyn, Tim Noblet and Will Gregory
Delivering the Founders’ Lecture, Dr Michael Rowe, associate professor for digital innovation at the University of Lincoln, explored the ‘profound’ impact AI will have across all parts of the profession in the coming years.
Day 3: A full final day
Saturday brought a final burst of activity, with a continued buzzing exhibition hall, poster viewings, and parallel sessions including abstract presentations, networking, workshops, symposiums, keynotes, and spotlight sessions.
If you attended online or in person and would like to recap or view any of the sessions again, recordings will take around three weeks to process, we’ll let you know when they’re ready.
Save the date
The CSP Annual Conference 2026 will take place 19–20 October at the SEC in Glasgow. We can’t wait to see you there!
